The Roadrunner Model is ideally used for indoor use. If you need to move indoors, around your home, at a rest home, retirement village to get to the dining room or community events, and have limited space, the Road runner is the ideal scooter. The dual front wheels at the front allow a tight turning radius which allows tight turns, especially in corridors.

Accessories

Joy Ride has a complete set of accessory options for your additional mobility needs. The Roadrunner model comes with a front basket with handle which can be detached to take into the store. You are also supplied with a complimentary safety flag. A larger rear basket is also available for putting your groceries in and walking frame holder, which is easy to hook your frame into. The cane holder is very popular for umbrellas, crutches and walking sticks alike. Storage Covers are offered by Joy Ride, which is a must for scooters exposed to the weather. All these accessories come to you at affordable, very competitive prices.

Adjustable Seat

The seat should be comfortable with durable vinyl. This seat rises for more height adjusting to the user’s independent needs. Additionally, the backrest can be adjusted slightly to your requirements. The seat width can also be adjusted for the larger people.

Batteries

There are two main kids of batteries: no maintenance, sealed battery and a cheaper wet, call type which will need regular checks and could leak acid when being transported. Joy Ride Scooters have sealed leach acid batteries “a must for scooters” for your protection with an intelligent battery charging system. The off board charger (AC100-240V) charges the batteries (DC 21V / 20A x 2) to capacity overnight without over charging for your convenience and safety.

Braking System

All Joy Ride Mobility Scooters have two braking systems designed with your system in mind. An automatic dynamic system controls deceleration during manual driving and a “fail safe” brake operates to lock the rear wheels when the scooter comes to rest.

Control Panel

The control panel features a row of lights, which indicate the level of charge left in the batteries. It is convenient gauge to tell the user when the scooter need recharging. The Roadrunner cruising range is up to 25km/h.

Number of Wheels

The Roadrunner is a 3 wheel model, with tandem front wheels. This allows the user to make tight turns and ideal for indoor use. The tyres look great as they are black, not the grey you will normally see, made of nylon non marking material.

NZAA

Ever Joy Ride Scooter received the protection of AA’s breakdown service, an additional complimentary service extended exclusively to all Joy Ride customers. Roadside service is provided, if required 24hours/7days a week. This will ensure piece of mind, knowing that the NZAA have everything under control. Arrangements will be made to safely return you and your scooter home at no extra charge to the customer.

Size

The LTSA (Land Transport Safety Authority) Legislation on mobility scooters states that a scooter must be less then 90cm wide for safe footpath use. The Roadrunner Model is 54cm wide, well within the legal requirements for safe use on the footpath. The unit is capable of going through a normal size door frame.

Steering Tiller

All Joy Ride Models have an easy to use quick-release mechanism designed with the user in mind to allow the tiller to be adjusted to any level.

Turning Radius

The Roadrunner has a minimum turning circle of 0.9m radius, which makes the model very easy to maneuver in tight areas such as inside around tables.

Joy Ride supports its products with an up to 5 years limited warranty including 1 year of labour. We have qualified service technicians in the main towns and cities so help is not far away.
